The Nyinkka Nyunyu Centre in Tennant Creek promises
a unique opportunity for visitors to stop, refresh themselves
and enjoy the arid zone garden, the interpretation of
Warumungu culture, the art and craft market, and traditional
dance.
There is strong community support for the Cultural
Centre, for its potential to maintain Warumungu culture,
to interpret the Warumungu world view and experience
to visitors, as well as provide income and employment
in the Barkly region.
The project approach encourages "people doing
it for themselves" to create a community resource
and a place for meeting where Warumungu people can tell
the "proper story".
